In order to strengthen the construction of graduate students’ academic ethics and cultivate standardized experimental record-keeping habits, we hereby organize 2025-entry graduate students to study 学术道德与实验记录写作规范 (Academic Ethics and Experimental Record Writing Standards), the online open course. Relevant matters are notified as follows:

I. The Importance of Experimental Records

Experimental records are the real-time and complete documentation of experimental design, operation, data, phenomena, etc. during the scientific research process. Maintaining good experimental records is crucial for conducting scientific research for the following reasons: 1) Ensure a traceable research process and reproducible results to support scientific verification; 2) Serve as original evidence to prevent misjudgment or falsification of data and safeguard academic integrity; 3) Record abnormal phenomena to facilitate problem review and new discoveries; 4) Promote team collaboration, ensuring the handover of experiments and the continuity of research achievements.

Graduate students must earnestly study and master the standards for keeping experimental records, and develop rigorous, meticulous and striving-for-excellence habits at the initial stage of their research, so as to lay a solid foundation for their scientific research careers.

Computer Terminal: Access the homepage of the Project-based Experimental Teaching Platform (https://xiangmushiyan.hzau.edu.cn/portal/#/home/firstpage), log in with the on-campus “unified identity authentication” account and password, search for the course “学术道德与实验记录写作规范” (Academic Ethics and Experimental Record Writing Standards), and start learning.

Mobile Terminal: Follow the WeChat official account “华中农业大学研究生教育” (Huazhong Agricultural University Graduate Education), enter the platform through the menu “服务专区→项目制实验教学” (Service Area→Project-based Experimental Teaching), log in with the on-campus “unified identity authentication” account and password, search for the course “学术道德与实验记录写作规范” (Academic Ethics and Experimental Record Writing Standards), and start learning.

During the learning process, if you have any questions or need help, you can refer to the “使用说明” (User Guide) on the platform’s homepage.

(3) Learning Deadline:

Graduate students must complete the study of the video open course before September 26.

(4) Progress Check:

The Graduate School will regularly inform each school of the completion status of the course. For those who fail to complete the learning task on schedule, the school shall urge and remind them to ensure that all target learners complete the course.

All schools and laboratories shall provide special experimental notebooks for graduate students, and it shall be clearly stipulated that each notebook is for exclusive use. No other matters shall be recorded in the laboratory notebook.
